Why do we request Google Sheets access?
GeoCash operates under a Bring Your Own Database (BYOD) model. We do not have a centralized backend database to store your personal financial data. Instead, the application uses a Google Spreadsheet stored securely inside your personal Google Drive as its only database.
To provide this core functionality, GeoCash requests access to the Google Sheets API (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/spreadsheets).
How your data is used:
- Read: To calculate and display your dashboard statistics, wallet balances, and transaction history.
- Write & Update: To record new daily expenses, incomes, custom categories, and edit existing records.
- Targeted Access: We strictly read and write only to the specific Spreadsheet ID that you manually input into the app's settings. We cannot see, access, or modify any other files in your Google Drive.
